In life, there’s a principle called the Pareto Principle, or the 80/20 Rule. It teaches that 20% of our efforts produce 80% of our results, while the other 80% of our efforts only yield 20%. This idea can be applied to how we handle life’s challenges, especially as believers.
Often, we rely on our own strength, putting in 80% of the effort, but only seeing small results—about 20%. When trials come, we try to figure things out on our own, but the real power comes when we lean on God’s Word and His promises. That’s the 20% that brings the abundant 80% return.
Look at how Jesus responded when tempted in the wilderness. Every time, He answered with, “It is written…” (Matthew 4:1-11). He relied on the Word, and through it, He had victory. The same applies to us. God has already given us the victory over the challenges we face. All we need to do is trust Him and respond His way, not ours.
Today, let’s put our trust in God’s Word, knowing that when we do, He will bring about results far beyond what we could achieve on our own. Don’t spend 80% of your time stressing or struggling—spend 20% trusting in Him and watch what He can do.
Prayer: Lord, help me to trust You more and rely on Your Word in every situation. Thank You for the victory You’ve already won for me. Amen.
