Your Testimony Isn’t Just for You

Has God ever brought you through something you didn’t know how you were going to make it through?

Maybe it was a loss, a health challenge, a difficult relationship, a financial struggle, a mistake you made yourself, or simply a season when you couldn’t see the way forward.

And yet, somehow, you’re still here.

During our latest Light House Sunday Session, we talked about why those stories matter.

Your testimony isn’t just for you.

When God brings us through something, our natural response may be to thank Him and continue with life. But sharing what He has done can become a source of hope for someone else.

Someone may be facing today what God brought you through years ago.

Hearing your story may remind them:

“If God made a way for them, perhaps He can make a way for me too.”

But testimony doesn’t only help the person listening.

It helps us remember.

Psalm 103 tells us:

“Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits.”

How easily we forget.

God answers one prayer. He carries us through one difficult season. We’re grateful.

Then another challenge comes—and suddenly we’re afraid all over again.

Remembering what God has already done gives us something to hold onto when we don’t yet know what He’s going to do next.

During Sunday’s gathering, members of our Light House family shared personal stories of God’s faithfulness through some very difficult experiences.

Different stories.

Different circumstances.

But the same God.

And ultimately, that’s what testimony should do.

It points beyond us and back to Him.

Our story isn’t about how strong we were.

It’s about how faithful He has been.

Jesus Christ remains at the center of everything we do at Light House. The blessings we receive in this life are temporary, but what Christ accomplished for us is eternal.

So think about your own life today:

What has the Lord brought you through?

Don’t forget it.

And perhaps it’s time to tell somebody else.
