Day 33
Poetic Thought
“My service”
My service is defined by what God intended it to be
I will serve everyday until the Lord comes for me
When I get home I will be rewarded in multitudes
In this life on earth I did everything I was supposed to do
Sometimes you have to help yourself
But you must serve others as well
Whether that be on the street, the boardroom, the church, your job, or behind a cell
Doing what’s right by God should be your priority
I told selfish ways to go, I can’t let those thoughts keep controlling me
I will pay attention to every need
I will discover my ministry
I won’t give up
I’ll follow and eventually take the lead
This is my sacrifice
Giving all to God
This is how real servants act
We live, work, and give honor to God
I believe I heard this from my pastor that if you want to be successful in life (meaning career or profession) find a way to serve or provide a service for others. Many times we choose a career based on what the income will be but just seeking out a service to provide for others will make your career choice meaningful and fulfilling. After all, money cannot buy you happiness.
Real servants don’t leave a job undone and they don’t quit when they get discouraged. They are trustworthy and dependable. We have to remember that God shaped up for service, not self centeredness. Jesus is a great example , he washed his disciples feet, tended to children, nothing was beneath Him. Joseph was another one, he served in the shadow, never drawing attention to himself.
