A Jasahn original rendition of Made To Last Forever

  1. I also enjoyed in this chapter as it presented a different way to look at each day. It is something that definitely I started implementing and it motivates me and makes me more productive. I have heard, and sometimes practiced, to “live for the future”, and “this is the first day of the rest of your life”. But if we just switch that up a little I find it to be much more beneficial. This chapter teaches to live today as though it was the last day of our lives. It forces us to at least consider, and then hopefully do, things we may have looked to put off till another time. Maximizing the time that we have remaining because of the thought of the finality or end of it. Our Bishop says that death is the greatest motivator and it is so true. Once we start realizing that our time here is finite, we act with more urgency. How much more productive would we be in life if we acted with more urgency? And then, we wake up tomorrow… and it’s really like Our Father gave us a gift of this wonderful extra time in a new day. Then this Scripture has greater meaning – This is the day that the Lord has made, we will rejoice and be glad in it!

  2. Day 4
    Poetic Thought

    “Made to last forever”

    What’s eternity to a day?
Moments in time may fade away
    God promised everlasting life
    So your soul may stay
Think of how you were made
    What’s forever to you anyway?
Living life like it’s your last
    Will last until judgement day
You were made to last forever
    Don’t be scared to leave
For you are just going to a different place
God planned for you to be!

  3. Day 4
Today after reading this segment I started to think about my life and how I’m living it. It also gives me comfort so when I think of my loved ones who have transitioned, I know that they are still living somewhere.
This portion made me wonder why we call it “death” when we live or why we say someone has “died”?
How could you die if you were granted eternal life?
Perhaps before you were born you were “dead”. Like with other things before you create something you thought about it and then brought it to life. That’s what God did for us.
So, what do you think.. before birth is that what death really is?

  4. Hey, Shannell! Phenomenal poetry as usual!
So I don’t I really think death is like before you were born because before you were born you didn’t exist but after death you exist so…….. but definitely an interesting concept because it makes me wonder if before you were born does your spirit already exist and then God just forms the physical body? Maybe this is going a bit off topic but just wondering…..
So usually I do the purpose readings early mornings but today because of pattern interrupt did it later in the afternoon. Nothing is haphazard or meaningless because I needed to get the message of this chapter after my hectic day at the office to be able to better appreciate the lesson. The insignificant inconveniences, or annoyances, or disappointments of our daily lives are meaningless in the whole scheme of things. This lesson is definitely going to help me in my quest to “respond”to situations I encounter and not “react”.

  5. I really enjoy these messages, and I really appreciate that you are sharing this book with us. I will continue to watch these videos, so I can grow a better relationship with the Lord!!
